With the maturity of database technology and the rapid popularization of computer networks,the capacity for collecting data of human has been greatly improved, it led to the rapid expansion of global information, in order to explore the hidden knowledge from these huge amounts of information, Data mining technology has came into being. Currently, data mining techniques have been more and more sophisticated, and the area of its applications have been Greatly expanded, however, its research in the field of construction materials has not been promoted. With the new material, new technology, new technology and new methods to emerge in endlessly, all units are taking information operations. Construction material information by previous manual operation has been converted to automatic operation rely on network technology, and has accumulated a certain amount of information. As with other fields, construction materials information also contains the potential value of the knowledge to be discovered, which can provide effective help for the enterprise management and decision. So the research of data mining technology in the management of construction material information becomes urgent.Data mining is one intelligent data analysis technology that just arises in the 20th century, however, it has been greatly paid attention because it has broad application prospect. As a new prospect in database and data warehouse used in research and application, data mining is also called as Knowledge Discovery from Database, it is the technology to mine useful information from he data warehouse or massive data, as well as the technology to mine knowledge from data. Its purpose is to use computer to automatically analysis data (often very large data sets) in-depth, and to acquire unknown useful properties of the data, then it is used to help the data owner to better understand, predict, control and optimization with these data related behavior.Clustering in the field of data mining is an important branch is being used in commercial, geological exploration, image processing, and other fields. Because it not only Can be used as a pretreatment other algorithm, the algorithm Can be as an independent use. It eliminates the need to pre-type markers Can be used directly on the data set.This paper mainly introduces the application of K-Means clustering algorithms used in construction engineering materials according to the study and analysis to the features of construction engineering materials and the present data mining system, and implement the new data mining system using the technology of data base, data mining and clustering. The new system is used to mine data from construction material information database of Guangdong area. It finds different materials group and its respective characteristics, and breaks down materials, and shares the resources of material information, and formulates the marketing means, and enhances customer satisfaction, and then enables enterprises to be invincible in the competition. Also the price of materials is reference for engineering budget, construction budget, project bid and project funding. From the result of the dada mining system, it shows that the K-means algorithm, in theory or in practice, has a certain degree of guiding significance.
