Research And Simulation Of Vehicle License Plate Recognition Arithmetic Based On Image Processing

The Automatic Plate Identification Technology is the centre and basic technology in the Intelligent Transportation System. And it is the most important process in the traffic management and the vehicle detection system. The technology has been used more and more in the vehicle management, speedway charging system and automation intendance system. Based on the image processing automatic car's plate identification arithmetic has been used mostly in the car's plate identification technology. But most of the car's plate identification arithmetic also has some issues. For example, the identification rate is lower and the speed is slowly. Specially, when the image is in the complicated back ground, and the image is darker caused by illumination and weather. The research in the car's plate identification arithmetic has been to very important.Based on digital image processing theory, this paper did more analysis and research and improve in the plate positioning arithmetic, plate division of characters arithmetic and the License plate character recognition arithmetic. Firstly, this paper designed the based on the grain feature rectangle exclude arithmetic. This arithmetic can improve the issue of fix position wrong and rapidly. And it can wire off the other area beside plate quickly. The can fix the position accurately based on the grain feature of the plate. Secondly, this paper has designed the based on the edge feature jump and change state arithmetic. This arithmetic can wire off the frame and the rivet, then can afford a good image before division characters. And this paper propose the pixel projection contrast plate division of characters arithmetic can wire off the disturb noise and the division characters accurately. The last, when we have researched in the License plate character recognition arithmetic, the paper designed to make the template matching algorithm and the stand by vector together. The arithmetic can make up short in each other. Especially in the recognition of damage character process, it reached a good effect. The improved arithmetic has been applied in more experiments. And it has reached a high recognition rate in the License plate character recognition.
