Ultral Short Base Line Positioning System (USBL) is an acoustic positioning system which realize positioning, tracking and data transmission to underwater cooperative targets. In this paper, a digital signal processing hardware and software implementation scheme of Ultral Short Base Line Positioning System are proposed. With broadband positioning technology, the real-time positioning of four targets was implemented. In this thesis, a hardware implementation scheme of parallel processor based on three high-performance fixed-point DSP chips TMS320C6416 and a low-power Cyclone II FPGA chip EP2C8Q208C8N is proposed. The system's computing power is greatly enhanced, for the multi-DSP parallel processing technology is used. In this thesis, a master-slave structure is carried out by a master chip and two slave chips. With compass data, GPS data and time-delay data from the two slave chips, target geodetic coordinates is calculated by the main DSP. The results are uploaded to the control software through the RS232 serial port to display the targets'track. The data sampled by the FPGA is sent to the slave-DSP through the EDMA to realize time-delay estimation and the results are transmitted to the main-DSP through McBSP. The FPGA chip mainly completes 4-way signal data acquisition, data filtering, synchronous signal generating and other logic control. The algorithm computation is very large, since real-time correlation and double-precision floating-point operations are used. In the software programming, the software flow and structure are carefully designed. An efficient program is designed through code optimization which makes full use of the capability of DSP, so the real-time positioning of four targets was implemented.
