Semi-submersible offshore platform is a common type of floating offshore platform. In the development of the deep-water oil industry, semi-submersible platform is widely used because of its special characteristics: the great performance of stability, the capacious deck area, the preferably payload, the strong ability of drilling and multi-functioned.In this paper , a semi-submersible offshore platform at water depth of 1000 m is selected to investigate the hybrid model testing technique based on equivalent water truncation. The truncated water depth is chosen as 160 m. The model tests of the truncated system is carried out. the motion responses of semi-submersible platform is analyzed in regular wave and irregular wave. The results show that the model testing technique is feasible and can be used in the model testing of deep sea plat forms. At the same time, the research and application of computer vision and image processing algorithm is introduced in detail. The part of arithmetic mostly involves image preprocessing , automatic selection of threshold value ,characteristic extraction, calibration, stereo matching,3-D reconstruction, and so on.Lots of experiments are carried out aiming at the float movement measurement using the wave—making machine and the measurement precision of the system is analyzed and validated. |
