The continuously stirred tank reator (CSTR) is the important equipment in the process of chemical production, the chemical reaction accompanied by phenomenon whereby heat is liberated, The CSTR system has the characteristics of time varying, nonlinear and time delay. The mechanism of CSTR is complex and parameter changes in the reaction process,The purpose of control is to design a controller which ensure the practical output to track the desired output under the effect of uncertainty.Traditional PID controller depends on the precise mathematical model, So traditional PID controller can not be achieved on the precise control. The goal of the work is provide a method for controlling outlet concentration and estimating the process flowrate in the CSTR system.A simple control scheme takes into account the bounded nature of the coolant flow rate taken as input variable is presented. The proposed method guaranteees the control signal varying within its physical limits,The resulting controller does not need to feed back all the process states and guarantees stabilization to the desired concentration. The process flowrate is estimated by an adaptive observer. The monitoring of this parameter can be useful to decide when the CSTR system needs maintennance. It is very easy to tune for the controller and the adaptive observer. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated through numerical simulations, the simulations show that it has a good characteristic of stability and robustness.
