In recent years,with the development of China’s economy, the improvement ofpeople’s living standard,and the frequent occurrence of food safety incidents,peoplehave higher demands on quality of food. Food producers, as one of the pricipal personin charge of producing, should not only possess certain professional knowledge,experience and skills, but also have higher professional ethics and quality. Only withhigher professional ethics and quality can food producers produce high-quality andqualified food.It is found that the main current status of professional ethics of food producers isgood by means of conducting surveys on the consumers and the executive staffs in thefood and drug administration, the quality and technical supervision bureau, theadministration for industry and commerce. In the process of food production, most ofthe food producers can scrupulously abide by professional ethics and have highprofessional morals. However, the anomie of professional ethics mainly manifested aslack of social responsibility, not strong fair competition consciousness, lack of sincerityand lack of self-discipline consciousness, still exist in some of the food producers.These anomie phenomena harm the social in four aspects. The first is to damage theinterests of the consumers. The second is to undermine the general mood of society andto disrupt the normal economic order. The last is to hurt the producers’ image. Thecauses of the series of problems found in this study include being driven by personalinterests, being influenced by money first thought in the society, being ineffectivelysupervised by the relevant government departments, lack of a perfect system of foodsafety supervision and a complete legal system, and so on.Three ways are outlined for the reasons of the series of anomie from the point ofview of moral education, laws and regulations, and supervisory mechanism. The firstway is to strengthen the moral education and moral cultivation of food producers, and toimprove their occupational ethics caliber. Another way is to intensify the constructionof a legal system and to punish illegal behavior conspicuously. The last way is tostrengthen the supervision and to establish a perfect, all-around and multi-levelmechanism of supervision and restriction. That is, we should create a perfect, all-aroundand multi-level mechanism of supervision and restriction to strengthen the constructionof occupation morals of food producers by means of the supervision of governmentregulators, news media, public opinion, the consumers and industrial associations.
