Great changes have taken place in the society as a whole, the marriageand family relations have also been greatly affected with a [ot of problems. Marriageand family is an important part of society and the cell of society, so marriageand family happiness degree is related to social stability and harmony. No family, nosocial stability. Therefore, it becomes an indispensable job to solve the marriage andfamily problems in the current society and to build a stable and harmonious marriageand family relationship in the construction of socialist harmonious society.In the work The Origin of Family, Private Property unci the State, Engelsanalyzed the development of the early human history comprehensively,systematically and scientifically, summarized the development and characteristicsof marriage family mode of each historical period, described the process of thedevelopment of human society, summarized the development law of human society,and predicted the development trend of human socicty. His thought plays an importantrole in guiding the human marriage and family problem solving.In view of this, this thesis, entitled “Analysis of Engels’s Views of Marriage andFamily’*. Based on sorting and reading many classic works of Engels, Icombed his incisive exposition on marriage and family systematically so as to figureout Engels basic views on marriage and family and its role and significance of solvingthe current problems of marriage and famil’y. Ihis thesis mainly did something in theofllowing three aspects. The thesis first lias a review of Engcl’s theory origin ofmarriage and family and sorts out the formation of its context; the second part gives asummary of Engels basic views on marriage and family; in the third part, the thesisexplores the contemporary study of Engels family ideological and theoreticalsignificance and practical value and draws the conclusion that it is a guide to actionfor Chinese citizens’ seeking of happiness and felicity. To build a correct view onmarriage and family, people are supposed to absorb the spiritual resources fromEngels’s view and advocates.
