Research On Institutional Adjustment Of International Institutions

ASEAN was founded in1967, after40years of development process, it has nowbecome the political and economic power that cant beignored in the world.Althoughover the past forty years great changes occurred in the international politicalenvironment, the group still exists. It is how to do? In other words, this paper is totest the system adaptability of ASEAN. The so-called institutional adaptation refers tothe ability that adapt to the new system requirements and different environment byadjusting or changing.The state adjust the international organization in the system toadapt to the change of environment, rather than give them up or create a newinternational organization. In order to study the ASEAN system, this paper combinesthe three paradigms in the study of Politics: rationalism, institutionalism andconstructivism, and on this basis to build the framework of institutional change.Although the theory presented in this paper can not to explain the institutionalchange of ASEAN fully, it can find institutional change path and inertia characteristics,and then make a theoretical explanation.
