A Contrastive Study Of Chinese And Vietnamese Modal Adverbs

Adverb in Chinese grammar syntax which has been the concern of scholars, many recent studies scholars modal adverbs deepening increasingly fruitful research results, and the study of the historical, the conclusions more widely clear.Currently, Khmer adverb although there are fewer studies, but its grammatical features and pragmatic phenomenon of considerable importance. Khmer literature has very few adverbs research research Khmer adverbs previous studies only, do not have any scholars in two languages- Chinese and Khmer adverb comparison.Therefore, according to this article through linguistic typology and comparative linguistics theory to select the Chinese and Khmer Modal Adverbs as the research object, including the perspective of semantic contrast, syntactic feature comparison, Comparison of Pragmatic Function. In addition, by recording Khmer to be distracted by the Khmer language to find focus. After a comparative analysis between Chinese and Khmer found similarities and differences of tone adverb, we reached the following conclusions:First, from the semantic function, this thesis compares the 10 Chinese and Khmer Modal Adverbs. Comparative study process has similarities and differences.Second, from the syntactic function point of view, the greatest common Chinese modal adverbs and Khmer adverbial that serve as syntactic component. But the biggest difference is that both act as adverbial adverb who act as adverbial phrase is placed in front of the center, can not be placed behind the center of language, and sometimes Khmer adverb is situated behind the center of language, and sometimes in the heart of language front.Third, from the pragmatic point of view function, Chinese Khmer modal adverbs have evaluative and emphatic focus. Also, be on the Khmer language to find focus. From the Chinese Khmer modal adverb comparative analysis concluded, I hope the results of this research will be on the Chinese Khmer Adverbs scholar helpful, but also for the Chinese Foreign Teaching also help.The overall thesis is to compare the syntactic function of only the overall tone of the Chinese and Khmer adverbs are compared, there is no in-depth study for the tone adverb inside categories.
