The preface as St. Wang Xizhi’s most famous works, has been is symbol of calligraphy from the philosophies of calligraphers, Shugu dynasties regarded as the classical learning. So, how does it become a classic step by step? This paper is to take the Tang Dynasty as a time period, the "Lanting Pavilion order" on the whole Tang Dynasty calligraphy history, to explore the process of its classic. The author thinks that:(I), "the Lanting Pavilion sequence" itself has a high artistic quality, great room for interpretation and continuous influence constitute its become a classic three elements; (II), Tang Taizong in the "classic Lanting Pavilion sequence" plays a crucial role, according to him the establishment of the highest aesthetic standards of calligraphy in the "Lanting Pavilion" and a copy of a large order, "Lan Tingxu" text, calligraphy practice itself has objectively led to a large number of "Lanting Pavilion" in order to learn calligraphy, these from many aspects to promote the "Lanting Pavilion" of the classical order process, initially established the "Lanting Pavilion" sequence the classic position; (III), poetry and painting and other art forms, but also to some extent on the establishment of the "Lanting Pavilion" preface to the classic status played a role; (Ⅳ), the Tang Dynasty calligrapher in succession "LAN The classic Pavilion preface "at the same time, also in the unceasing innovation, especially in Li Yong’s script into the monument of great significance.
