Take The Animated Short Film "Moonlight Forest" As An Example

Animation works in film and television belong to audio-visual art, and the “visual” here refers to the picture, which means the lens. Every character and activity presented is designed by designers, whose work is defined as the artistic design. Artistic design is an indispensable part of an art work, animation process, and a key to the success. These animation characters,such as Mickey Mouse, Monkey King and Big Hero, have been deeply rooted in the heart of audience of all ages. And these characters also help audience to commit the film into memory. Therefore, the quality of artistic design in a film plays a critical role in an animation work. With my graduation design work the Moon Woods, this thesis talks about the undertaking of technical revolution, especially digital technique, and its active impact on animation works brought by time going and the change of people’s habit.
