An Archeological Study On The Tombs Of Chengdu Plain In The Warring States Period

In the Warring States period, Sichuan have suffered the late Shu culture period and the Central Plains culture period,in the archaeological community, it got great values, from the history, in the Warring Statea period, Sichuan have suffered the period of Kaiming Shu Kindom and the Shu county of Qin, in this regime change period, the burial culture must be in the change, including the graves and the artifacts,a great number of tombs have unearthed in the Chengdu plain. In the early Warring States period,we can see lots of Shu culture artifacts in the tombs, especially the Ceramic tip. In the middle of the Warring States period,we can see the Qin culture and the Chu culture in the tombs, from the large and middle sized graves, we can see many bronze ritual vessels, they are foreign cultural artifacts, such as bronze tripod, bronze plate, bronze dui, copper pot. In the late Warring States period, Qin conquered Shu kindom, form then on, the Shu culture was covered slowly by the central plains culture, at this period, we can see both the Qin cltural pottery like garlic pot, pottery pot, flat-bottom tank, including the bronze ritual vessels, also we can see the bronze swords from the Qin culture, and the Shu culture is going to disappear, in the middle period of the Han dynasty, we can not see the Shu culture, then Sichuan was covered completely by the central plain culture systems. So in the Warring States period,it is a great period for Sichuan to develop and progress.In this article, I use the method of the archaeological typology, take the tombs of the Chengdu plain to staged and classified, to compare and explore the different tombs, and combined with historical documents, to analyse the burial culture’s change from different periods, to reveal the history of the Chengdu plain in the Warring States period.
