In this paper the author through careful analysis will explain the history and hidden meanings behind the depiction of witches in film, and following this will make a comparison between both the Witch and Witchcraft in film and in reality.With the growth of Modern Witchcraft as one of the world’s fastest growing religions we see in recent years an increase in the popularity of TV shows which choose to incorporate witches and witchcraft into their story lines, but how far from the reality are they?This dissertation aims to reveal the impact of prejudices on the film depiction of witches and witchcraft and then discuss the huge gap between film and reality.
