Sergey Lukianenko is a famous Russian science fiction writer, many works of science fiction which he published were acclaimed widely in Russia, such as ?Nuclear Dream?, ?Knights of forty islands?, ?A Lord from Planet Earth?, ?Labyrinth of Reflections? and so on. Lukianenko was known as the father of Russian science fiction literature, but his series ?Night Watch? made him a well-known figure, and the series was called his representative work.Refer to fantasy literature, we have to mention its originator- J.R.R. Tolkien. His representative work ?The Lord of the Rings? is popular all over the world, the series sets off a reading wave of fantasy literature within the global scope, and it makes many fantasy loves crazy. To some extent, ?The Lord of the Rings? even flooded the creation of fantasy literature before it, it was known as the cornerstone of modern fantasy literature. ?Night Watch? and ?The Lord of the Rings? are both excellent works of modern fantasy literature, but the two works are created in different regions and different cultural backgrounds. Both them have deep imprint of their national culture, therefore, they are different in many aspects, such as culture style, value orientation, social significance and so on. Based on an objective, deep study and exploration on the two works, we recognize the mutual influential and restricted relationship between modern fantasy literature and policy, economy, society. At the same time, through the comparative analysis of the two works, we can understand the different perception of "secondary world" and "Good and Evil" and cultural value orientation.Human beings and supernatural things are separated in the "secondary world" in ?Night Watch?, human beings and supernatural things are placed together in the "secondary world" in ?The Lord of the Rings?. Differences in background and culture led to different perception on the "secondary world" in the two works. In ?Night Watch? Good and Evil coexist as a unity, however, in ?The Lord of the Rings? Good fights against Evil and Good is rewarded with good, Evil with evil. Different views on "Good and Evil" in them are caused by different beliefs and philosophies. From superficial comparison of similarities and differences to deep study of cultural origins, we can better analyze the aesthetic styles and their unique cultural values of the two works.
