The Song Dynasty is an important era of monopoly alum in ancient China, it can gradually develop and improve, not only because inherited the foundation of monopoly of alum during the Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasty, widely used in the Song Dynasty also benefited from the vitriol production and life demand; At the same time, the overall development of the prohibiting system is also the mature laid the policy background. The monopoly of alum shows a distinctive regional characteristic in the Song Dynasty. The literatures about the representative of three important areas for the district of Hedong, the district of Hebei and the nine districts of Southeast.
