The Development Of Photographic Separation And Its Influence

Photo-Secession is a very important genre in nearly 180 years history of photography, the aim of its birth is to promote pictorial photography in the United States.However, in its short active time, it has started the photography ontology language exploration and the enlightenment of modern art in the United States.The activities of Photo-secession including Camera Work magazine, established "291Gallery" and many art exhibitions. The founder Stieglitz played an important role in it. In this period,Photo-Secession gradually began to explore the ontology of photography, and also brought modern art into the United States, became a key link of the history of modern art.This paper tries to analyze the reasons for the formation of Photo-Secession,development course, main activity, the central figure, and analyze the domestic representative-Ray Art Center’s effort, eventually puts forward five suggestions to build modern photography system : 1.to the general public; 2.refused to commercialization; 3,outside the system; 4.including but not limited to photography; 5.Focus on the communication itself.This paper will be divided into six parts, the first part analyses the basis of economy, society and art for Photo-Secession; the second, third and part four analyses the main course, achievement, the central figure of Photo-Secession; the fifth part combines analysis of Ray Art Center to discuss the meaning of Photo-Secession in the present domestic reference; the last is the conclusion.
