A Study Of Cross - Cultural Communication From The Perspective Of Habermas' Philosophy Of Practice

Habermas’ s practical philosophy has important guiding significance to reality. He puts forward to communicative rationality whose medium is language, life world is the link, understanding is the guidance, main characteristics is mutual subjectivity.Habermas’ s theory of communicative action is made for communicative strategies of our world. The emergence of communicative rationality brings critique to subjectivity. At the same time it puts the inter-subjectivity to a climax. Cross-cultural communication activities is growing increasingly under the impetus of the global economic integration. Inter-subjectivity theory has important guiding significance in cross-cultural communication. Cross-cultural communication provides practice basis for inter-subjectivity. Authenticity, sincerity, integrity, pragmatic principle of equality of inter-subjectivity proposed by Habermas is beneficial to the reasonable and effective cross-cultural communication activity. In this paper, in the perspective of Habermas’ s practical philosophy, which is based on the theory of inter-subjectivity, provides guidance to cross-cultural communication eventually achieve complementary culture, rich culture, the prosperity of culture.
