As Buddhism was introduced to Mongolian region, Buddhist teachings affects Mongolian people on many aspects, like ideology, character, and law. Especially, the idea of the Ten Abominations of Buddhism influenced Mongolian people deeply.This thesis elaboratedthe Ten Abominations was the foundation of the Buddhist doctrine and also the expression of the idea of source of the evil. By analyzing the origin and developing track of the Ten Abominations, the author aimed to discuss its influence on Mongolian people based on the evidence that showed in Mongolian law, social culture, custom, discipline, and literary works.The introduction part introduced the concept and ideological system of Ten Abominations. And the author discussed the research status of Mongolian researcher and the significance of this research.The chapter one based on literary works of Tibetan and Mongolian scholars analyzed the thought, content and characteristic offen Abominations, also discussed its dominant ideas on body, language and psyche respectively.The chapter two explained the origin of idea of Ten Abominations, according to relevant books. The author tried to explore developing track of that theory and ideology in Tibetan and Mongolian region.The chapter three demonstrated the influence of Ten Abominations idea by a series of examples on custom, law, and social culture. And elaborated the idea that it affected Mongolian people at all aspects of thought, social environment and civilization and it still has a great influence in modern days.
