This paper is about exploring TCSL student teachers’ classroom non-verbalcharacteristics and problems in PIB.Body language is not only an important mean of passing information,but also will gradually become the second language development and the third language teaching and cognitive approach (zhang jie,2011).Therefore, in the second or third in the process of language learning, teachers as masters of the classroom to use of body language in the process of classroom teaching is becoming more and more important. At the same time, the role of students teachers in teaching staff can not be ignored, they will inevitably become the main force, so how to cultivate TCSL student teachers’ body language will become an important topic in teacher training.This paper combines qualitative and quantitative research methods in the process of research.Firstly through the literature review methodas a theoretical basis of the thesis. Secondly, on the basis of Flanders Interaction Analysis System,according to the relationship between body language and the teaching process and Zhou Pengsheng’ observing table of teachers’ nonverbal behavior in classroom instruction,this research selected the 11 student teachers’ teaching videos of two periods (the first week and the fifth week). According to the relationship of gestures and teaching process by 3 minutes as a unit, the author observed 6958 gestures in1100 minutes of22 videos.Combined with the interview method, questionnaire survey method to further study TCSL student teachers’classroom non-verbalcharacteristics,the same time using SPSS software to analysisthe results and give some advice.This study found that TCSL student teachers have the characteristics:1. The student teachers have a lot of actions to satisfy the needs of the psychological physiological;2. Auxiliary modification and replacement of non-verbal language accounts for the largest proportion; 3. The female student teacher’s classroom non-verbal compared with male student teacher does have significant difference in statistics, the former more than the latter.4. Different teaching objects (grade and whether ethnic Chinese) impact on student teachers classroom non-verbal have no significant difference in statistics.5. Student teachers are lack of strategic to use of body languagein the process of teaching; 6. Some body language has some negative influence on classroom teaching.According to the results of this study, we put forward the suggestions:for TCSL student teachers:1. Should pay attention on the role of body language, cultivate the consciousness of using body language in a effective way; 2. Train the ability of reflection; 3. Appropriate hair style and clothing, try to avoid improper posture.Forteachers:Pay attention on non-verbal trainingand student teachers body language.
