Documenta as the world’s most important international exhibitions has been its academic and political as its distinctive feature, Documenta was founded in 1955 after World War Ⅱ, its inception is for the revival of Nazi stigma of modern Europe art. After six years of development, Documenta has been held thirteenth, each session has with its distinctive point and the problem of consciousness and the whole society to participate in the great debate among. In 2002, the Documental 1 can be said to be an important turning point in the history of Documenta, because it vigorously promote the "political" and "knowledge production" It provides a new dimension and direction for International Exhibition.This thesis is divided into four chapters, the first three chapters include the basic situation of the Documental 1, the media for the evaluation of the Documental 1 and the curator curatorial concepts and evaluation of media response of Documental 1. The fourth chapter describes the general situation of the development history of Documenta and others concerned about the "post-colonialism" exhibition, in order to give hope to the Documental 1 a more objective history from history and curatorial aspects and academic orientation, and thus the eleventh Documenta have a clearer understanding. At the same time through the study of the Documental 1, but also want to be able to better discuss the property issue and the exhibition itself for the future direction.
