Hani is an ancient cross‐boarder ethnic group of China. The Hani in Xishuangbanna and foreign countries are usually called the Akhas. As the second largest ethnic group of Xishuangbanna, the Akhas have formed two special musical phenomenons in the long process of their society. The first is the traditional Akhas music originates from their traditional culture. The second is the Akhas pop music is composed or arranged by the Ahkas, and characterized by absorbing foreign culture. This paper focuses on the music behavior of the Akhas in different circumstances.Based on the musical phenomenons of Akhas in xishuangbanna, Written in Ethnography of Music, research in the music behavior of domain, through in the field work, deep description of two different types of music, discuss why their music behaviors have evolved during the vicissitude of culture.The paper consists of four parts. The introduction explains the selection of topic and the significance of it. The second part is a summary of the Ahkas and their music, the paper also gives definitions of native music and pop music of Ahkas,also overview of the music shape.The third part is a deep description and comparison of Ahkas musical behaviors. By explaining the“behavior field”,“behavior subject”and“behavior acquisition”, the paper reveals various aspects of Akhas music and its connotation. The fourth part generally analyses the evolution of Akhas music from culture vicissitude, contemporary cultural identity, personal creation in acculturation and participation of protection intangible cultural heritage. The epilogue of this paper summaries that, Akhas music is there choose and expression in the deep of hearts, although there is two kinds of the expression of the music in their behaviors, but that doesn’t have conflict and contradiction, they both are the product of specific historical periods.
