Metal relics due to its special material and properties become a unique category of heritage. Iron and bronze relics in the metal artifacts in the most representative, but due to the compositional properties extremely active, coupled with long-term soil burial environment and improper preservation measures after unearthed lead to corrosion of metal artifacts, seriously will crisp powder, mineralization, the material disappear permanently. In addition most of the museum’s display cabinet of cultural relics just own a single features, dustproof, do not have the ability to control the microenvironment, is not conducive to the preservation of cultural relics. To this end, we propose a new method for protecting and displaying the micro environment of the metal artifacts by controlling the key factors of metal artifacts. This method can create a safe environment for the cultural relics, and accord with the principle of the least interference that the world heritage conservation community has been praised for.In this paper in order to establish a set of metal cultural relic conservation safety and display device, through the creation of a vacuum environment, in the interior of the device placed desiccant and deoxidizing agent as auxiliary means, to control the corrosion of metal artifacts in the most critical factors, moisture and oxygen as the core, to create a dry, hypoxia micro environment.The research content is as follows:(1) The new method for controlling the preservation and display of metal artifacts is proposed. According to this method, the preservation and display of the relics are realized in the way of low cost and small energy consumption.(2) The use of vacuum preservation of cultural relics, on the one hand can increase device sealing performance, another can quickly exhaust internal oxygen and moisture, to realize the dry, hypoxia micro environment.(3)On the basis of six kinds of desiccant properties, the preparation of compound desiccant with silica gel or molecular sieve is presented. Using silica gel and molecular sieve nano porous structure and large specific surface area, will disperse calcium chloride supported on the surface of the porous materials, composite desiccant is formed after drying and microwave radiation. The compound desiccant can reduce the relative humidity in the protection box to 0, and realize the dry environment. The selection of active iron powder can reduce the oxygen content in the protection box to 0, and then realize the micro environment without oxygen.(4) To establish a set of dry and anoxic micro environmental metal relic preservation device, and to explain its structure and operation standard in detail. According to the relative humidity and oxygen content of the device, the relative humidity of 0 and oxygen content of 0 were achieved in the 60 minutes. The experimental results of the simulated samples show that no corrosion occurred in the six months.
