A Study On The Relationship Between Mother - In - Law Relationship In Family Ethics In The New Century

Family is one of the cells of society, a stable family relationship is the base for social stability. Among family relationships, the mother and daughter in-law relationship is the most special and prone to conflict. People said that A harmonious Mother-Daughter in-law relationship makes for a harmonious family, so it’s very important for every family. The popularization and familiarity of the Mother and daughter in-law relationship makes it the narrative focus of family ethics dramas. Realistic and traditional relationships compared to fictional Mother and Daughter in-law relationships have some different characteristics.The traditional relationship of Mother and daughter in-law is a repeating cycle of torment, with the Mother- in-law having the upper position in a family, the daughter-in-law having to obey her mother. As time progressed, traditional thoughts in the 1950s changed; and by the 1980s daughters have the typical characteristics of the only child generation. The Mother and Daughter in-law relationship has changed into Mother-in-law tolerating the Daughter-in-law, they now have the same position in family, this phenomenon is worthy of our attention. In recent years there have been lots of family TV series about the relation between Mother-in-law and Daughter-in-law in the new century, but the performance is short of harmonious relations and love between Mother and Daughter. This phenomenon has an objective reason, but the subjective reason is the subjective values of media.I have written this paper based on the theories of family ethics, sociology, art, and drama, taking the famous 22 TV series about relation between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law as the example, to analyze the new relationship and the reasoning in the new century. At the same time, draw scholars’attention to Mother and Daughter in-law relationship.
