A Study On The Patterns Of Minority Dresses In Wenshan Prefecture

Yunnan Wenshan gathered Zhuang, Miao, Yao, Yi, Dai, Buyi and other more than twenty kinds of minorities. Due to the differences of nationalities’ living environment conditions, clothing styles, patterns, fabrics of each nationality presents unique geographical features in shapes and colors. And different branches of one nationality have different in clothing and design. Some nationalities have no written language, clothing design the ordinary mysterious symbols like their nationality written records their history and culture of every little bit. The relationship between clothing design and culture and the art characteristic of the sign have significant importance in researching.This article researched the clothing design mainly from three aspects. First, classify and summarize the clothing design. Second, explore the profound implication of clothing design from the two perspectives of primitive religious beliefs and folk customs. Finally, analysis the aesthetic characteristics of clothing design from three aspects of materials, production process and identification.Studying and searching the clothing design of minorities finally must locate to the protection and inheritance of traditional national culture. According to analysis the status quo of minorities in searching area, putting forward some ideas and thinking on the inheritance and development of clothing design. On the basis of learning and understanding the deep cultural connotation of clothing design, taking the essence to the dregs, and searching the application of the clothing design in areas of modern design, packaging design and so on. On the other hand, design is an important part of clothing culture, and protecting and inheriting the clothing culture is protecting the clothing design. Therefore, this paper also put forward the values and measures of protecting and inheriting the clothing culture.
