The literary works of Valentin Grigoriyevich Rasputin feature profound ideological connotations and boast vivid images, which not only fully reflect his artistic and creative talent, but also draw the attention of the academic community.Under the background of modern industrial development, Rasputin calls on the attention to the relationship between mankind and nature, as well as the protection of our ambient environment and nature that we live on. He objects to the human deeds of devastating the nature for temporary gains. He holds the viewpoint that man should pay close attention to nature in order to seek innermost serenity and freedom. He integrates his ecological consciousness with literary creation.Rasputin’s ecological awareness has exerted great influences on many aspects of his literary creations. In his writing, human beings are portrayed as protectors of nature:not just animals, but people in his works are concerned about their homeland. They make joint efforts to guard their native places. Meanwhile, nature has become the habitat of human spirits:the beauty of nature brings peace and tranquility to mankind; the power of nature endows human lives with vitality; the meditation about nature warns people about their misdoing of remarking nature. The author sincerely conveys the unforgettable happiness gifted by nature and the eagerness of human beings to return to the natural world.Contemporary ecological situation and Rasputin’s deep Siberian complex are two contributing factors of his ecological consciousness. Due to his detailed description of Siberian countryside and the natural world, Rasputin is regarded as one of the representatives of "Village Prose". He doesn’t simply inherit the realistic and humanistic legacy of Russian literature, but juxtaposes mankind and nature in his literary creations to call on cherishing nature from a humanistic point of view.In short, Rasputin’s works convey his recognition of equal and reciprocal human-nature relationship, as well as his hope for harmonious coexistence of nature and human beings.
