Tibetan calligraphy as the spread of Tibetan ancient civilization carrier, the text of origin and the study of ancient books to learn gradually be taken seriously. But it is not as the object of study to become an independent subject at present. With the continuous development of Tibetan language, its form of calligraphy also gradually develops in the thousand years of social reform. During this process, the different forms of transmission system have sprung up. One of these forms is bounded by region, and gave a special name according to the particular system of calligraphy in particular geographical location, and then classified them by this inheritance form. This form of inheritance with its peculiar structure and transmission system affects the development trend of the whole Tibetan calligraphy, it is mainly appeared in Gannan, Nimu, Dege, and so on. However, many of these transmission forms have no exact inheritance information; lose their original form structure and the characteristics of brushwork, on the brink of extinction. Nearly forty years, Tibetan studies researchers both at home and abroad of Tibetan calligraphy, though there are some scattered, general theory research, but this kind of classification system of Tibetan calligraphy has yet study. Therefore, the author choice Gannan which he is familiar as the investigation object, use local materials, through the study of all kinds of related materials and the calligraphy text to study for this form of inheritance, hope to do good for the development of Tibetan calligraphy.The author considered Tibetan calligraphy as the complexity and particularity of calligraphy culture, take a different subject participation, diverse perspective way of dialogue, attempt to multi-dimensional three-dimensional interpretation of Gannan Tibetan calligraphy. This paper mainly through the history and culture of theoretical investigation, literature study and comparative study and calligraphy study the main research methods and theoretical basis, the Gannan Tibetan calligraphy are discussed in detailed studies.The article is divided into three chapters:The first chapter:at the beginning of "calligraphy" and "Tibetan calligraphy" theory. In this chapter, the author mainly discusses his shallow understanding of "calligraphy" culture, and discusses the development and research status of "Tibetan calligraphy", which reveals the problems existing in the recent "Tibetan calligraphy" study are the neglect of "Tibetan calligraphy" and "cultural context".The second chapter:some discussions on the historical origin of "Gannan Tibetan calligraphy". In this chapter the author mainly analyzes the Gannan Tibetan calligraphy of prerequisites and inheritance system. On this basis, the author also based on related literature records its inheritance, some preliminary investigation and discussion lists the cause and effect of all kinds of transmission system, suggests that "inheritance" in Tibetan calligraphy of the present study is of great significance.The third chapter:studies some "Gannan Tibetan calligraphy" cases. In this chapter the author takes the Gansu Institute of Buddhist Studies as an example, this paper mainly discusses the factors of this institute’s development and basic characteristics, and its effect on Gannan Tibetan calligraphy education. At the same time, on the basis of its Tibetan calligraphy teaching and the effect on Tibetan calligraphy, this chapter discusses two kinds of problems that exist in the development of this institute. Provide some references for problems may be produced in the development of Gannan Tibetan calligraphy teaching in the future.To sum up, this article mainly on the basis of history, culture, philology, calligraphy study and comparative study of the theoretical basis, plus the author’s long-term observation and practice experience, has carried on the preliminary research of the generation and development of "Gannan Tibetan calligraphy". Show that the Gannan Tibetan calligraphy not only with previous who hide hinterland has deep origin relations, but also of his own special style. At the same time, objectively analyses the cause of development of Gannan Tibetan calligraphy and current situation of the development of Gannan Tibetan calligraphy, and the problems existing in the current reality. Hope to have some positive impacts on the development of Tibetan calligraphy teaching in the future.
