A Study On The Vocabulary Of Vernacular In Shaoxing

"Shaoxing Vernacular Newspaper"is the first modern significance of vernacular newspaper in Shaoxing, one of the most important vernacular newspaper in the end of Qing Dynasty and the Beginning of the Republic of China, There are a large number of vernacular vocabulary in the newspaper,basically reflects the language characteristics of the end of Qing Dynasty and Beginning of the Re-public of China.Systematical study on the "Shaoxing Vernacular Newspaper" ver-nacular vocabulary, for the study of vernacular vocabulary in the end of Qing D-ynasty and the Beginning of the Republic of China,mens a lot.At present theresearch on "Shaoxing Vernacular Newspaper" vocabulary achieve a little,fro-m China language angle is less. This paper attempts to make a systemic analysisand Research on the"Shaoxing Vernacular Newspaper" first ly.In this paper,I wil-l apply lexicology, linguistics theory,combine with the method of diachronic and synchronic and statistics, through the analysis and research on the system of"Shaoxing Vernacular Newspaper".This paper mainly researched on the vernacular vocabulary of "Shaoxing Vernacular Newspaper",in the introduction illustrated the status, significance andmain research methods of the vernacular vocabulary research on "Shaoxing Ver-nacular Newspaper".After this,it divided into four chapters to carry on the concrete elaboration. The first chapter was "disyllabic degree of Shaoxing VernacularNewspaper", the first section showed the distribution of disyllabicized words inthe text through a brief article, through the analysis and examples presented in the end of Qing Dynasty and the Beginning of the Republic of China,wecould get the point of view:a large number of monosyllabic words were used, disyllabic degree was not very high. The second section, We had carried on the statistics to the "Shaoxing Vernacular Newspaper" monosyllabic words, according to parts of speech with newspapers in the example to demonstrate, analysis.The third section, we counted the monosyllabic words appeared in "Shaoxing Vernacular Newspaper", and compared with modern Chinese, then analyzed and summarized the frequency of single and double syllable words, finally we made a statistical description on the words which used independently in "Shaoxing Vernacular Newspaper" and the using conditions in modern Chinese. The second chapter we counted the new word appeared in "Shaoxing Vernacular Newspaper" the fisrt section,we classified the new vernacular word in the "Shaoxing Vernacular Newspaper" ver: the first category was the new words that "Chinese Dictionary" have included, the second category was the "Chinese Dictionary" included but examples of the new word lagged behind, the third category was the words "Chinese Dictionary" missed; the second section summarized and analyzed the characteristics of "new words appeared in Shaoxing Vernacular Newspaper",mainly described the characteristics of the ethnic words and real-time, periodic.The third chapter analyzes the Inverse Morphemes Word Pairs that appeared in "Shaoxing Vernacular Newspaper", firstly, we made a summary of the statistics on Inverse Morphemes Word Pairs, then divided them into two categories, c ounted them one by one,then give the relavant examples,at the last we paidmuch more attention on the Inverse Morphemes Word Pairs which is two order co-occurrence through three views: structures, Parts of Speech,meaning. Thefourth chapter studied the reduplication word in "Shaoxing Vernacular Newspaper", first,we analyzed the difference between the reduplication word and reduplicated form, then carried on the classification to the overlapping words (mainly consists of two syllable reduplication words, three syllable reduplication words, four syllable reduplication words), statistics, analysis. Finally summed up three characteristics of the "Shaoxing vernacular newspaper": the difference of the distribution,the heterogeneity of structure, the nature of temporary.
