Thai Group is the main nationality in Thailand, Thai Group and Dai Nationalityin Yunnan in our country both belong to Zhuang-Dong Group in Sino-Tibetan family.In terms of nationality, geography or history, Thailand has a long history of culturalconnection and even blood linkage with Yunnan ethnical group in our country.Moreover, they are of the same root, so is their culture. However, Due to geographicaland historical reasons and alike as well as the vast sea area in the residence place,Thai Group also gets in touch with the culture of India, Arab, Europe and othernations in the long historical and cultural development besides the communicationswith surrounding nations. Moreover, it is profoundly affected by different externalreligions so that Thailand’s culture is injected with a lot of artistic elements in India,western countries and Arab. The cultural collision, integration, variations anddevelopment between Thailand and other countries result in the great differences fromother nationalities of the same root in terms of Thai culture. Besides, due to thecultural changes, people can feel the strangeness of Thailand music both acousticallyand visually, which is an illusion because people do not understand the essence ofThai culture. Thai and Dai group both possesses two-stringed bowed instrument. Thepaper tries to explore into the national cultural chain of two-stringed instrument,similar cultural features between Dai and Thai Group, differences in varied suitableoccasions, functions and performance characteristics (bowed instrument) bycomparing the current situations of using two-stringed bowed instrument of the samecultural root in the two groups. Besides, the paper attempts to analyze the reason ofcultural change under the same cultural root. Combining with cultural anthropology,the paper deepens into the development of national cultural chain as well as regularand irregular distinctive manifestations.
