In the history of ancient Chinese novel, Huaben novels Published in Ming Dynasty and the Legends of the Tang, represent the peak of the vernacular short stories and Ancient classical Chinese short Stories respectively. Storytellers’ scripts inscribed in Ming Dynasty combine both the preserve of Colloquial Stories of the Song and the Yuan and the writing of Ming Dynasty’s scholar, among them, most works are rewriting and creations based on the Legends of the Tang. In the process of the creation of the text, the drawing materials from the Legends of the Tang endow it new time characteristic by the unique artistic form and manifest the blend of refine and vulgar culture during the process of text transmission and reception. Through the comparison and analysis of the work, we could find the different stylistic features on chapter system and artistic structure of colloquial stories and legend. Their stylistic differences are connected closely with the factors such as the motivation of novel, aesthetic idea and the spread and receiving of the novel.The introduction part puts forward the basis and the significance of the thesis, summarizing the leading researches and defining and illustrating the object of the study. Apart from the introduction part, the thesis consists of three parts:Part one will overview the condition of Huaben novels Published in Ming Dynasty draws its materials from the Legends of the Tang. This part will discuss the drawn materials from the aspects of quantity, form and scope respectively, analyzing comprehensively the characteristics and the basic features of the drawn materials from Tang legend.Part two compares different literary form from chapter system. This part will discuss respectively from four aspects of title and method of definition, the constitute of the beginning and the ending, the collocation of narrative language, the length of the writing.Part three conducts a stylistic adaptation from the inner artistic structure, analyzes the different artistic feature on language, narration, plot and character, and combines the factors of creation motive, aesthetic idea and spread and receiving to discuss the causes and significance of the formation of different stylistic features.
