| During late Tang Dynasty, the country is in a precarious situation. A time of troubles is prone to collapse, mentality of poets in ancient China have changed sharply. They focus on history and reflect on reality. Sun Yuanyan wrote 75 history commenting poems, and Wang Zun wrote 58 history commenting poems. What they wrote has produced a profound effects to the late creation of history commenting poems. In view of this, the author will do a intensive study about Sun Yuanyan’s Poems on History and Wang Zun’s Poems on history.This paper is divided into four parts:The introduction of this paper discusses and origins of history commenting poems, and defines the concept of history commenting poems which is debated in this article.The first chapter mainly combs the development and evolution of history commenting poems before Tang Dynasty and during Tang Dynasty.The second chapter tries to sort all the lives of Sun Yuanyan and Wang Zun, and their Poems on History. According to the times they lived, probes the state of mind when they wrote. Deeply analysis the content and theme of their poems on history, this section is divided into five parts, including praise for good emperor and prime minister, taunt about bad emperor and prime minister, outstanding talent’s contradiction between seclusion and being an officer, sadness about the good times passed by, refutation about traditional opinion of women.The third chapter puts predecessors’s evaluations about Sun Yuanyan and Wang Zun’s poems on history in order, studies the reason why the critics do not think much of their poems. Compared Sun Yuanyan and Wang Zun to the famous poet Du Mu, makes a correct evaluation about Sun Yuanyan and Wang zun’s poems on history. Finally, chooses which one is better than the other. |
