Under the influence of modern art ideology, contemporary sculptors are bold in breaking the barriers between different art styles and scopes. Their works of sculpture have been created of diversified characteristics, that is, the material and method of sculpture creation is not limited to a single pattern. With a view to absorbing a variety of different art forms and voluntarily merging new ideas, new ideology, new materials and new technology, most works of sculpture art have been presented in new colorful forms. Thus, the contents in the modern sense of sculpture have been unlimitedly expanded, enriching the sculpture language, i.e, language of painting, seal cutting, porcelain, lacquer art, etc. Meanwhile, due to the integration of other forms of art, the categories of a decorative art, traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy, paper-cut, photography, digital art, etc., also can be found their trace in modern sculpture. With the wide spread of modern sculpture materials and technology, this paper focuses on the painted lacquer process in modern sculpture art integration, expecting to structure the theory frame for modern sculpture creation, as well as promoting new thinking and ideas in the research, communication and rich characteristic sculpture practice, so as to strive to further expand the scope of modern sculpture studies in China.
