Tango, as the traditional music of Argentina, is so beloved by lots of admirers. Accordion is linked closely with Tango whenever it is mentioned around the music world. Accordion plays an indispensable part in the musical performance of Tango. This paper based on four aspects to analyze and grasp the development and feature of Accordion Tango music.Firstly, the introduction of the production background of Tango music, the feature of older music and some kinds of accordion of the Tango.Secondly, the exposition of the changes in the development of Accordion Tango music through introducing and analyzing the background, composition features and his opus “Heavy Tango” of a accordion executant Richard Garlliano.Thirdly, the introduction of the contemporary accordion executant Phil Bouvier, his magnum opus “Phil Tango” and the methods used for the important and difficult points of practicing pieces combined with some examples of music.Fourthly, the comparison of Richard Garlliano’s Heavy Tango and Phil Bouvier’s Phil Tango and the application of the tango music element to the popular accordion works to expound the development and innovation in the modern society. It presents broad prospects for the development of accordion tango music.
