The Androgyny thought, as a literary criticism, submitted by Woolf, to attract attention in an academic circle. The Androgyny theory which played the role of harmonious coexistence provides new ideas for creators. Half a century later, Helene Cixous inherited the thought of this theory, combining with the actual, made a new theoretical innovations depended on androgyny theory, and put forward the feminine writing theory. This paper takes Woolf and Helene Cixcous "androgyny" theory as the object of study, mainly expanded the connotation of "androgyny" given by the two literary theorists and show how to use their theory in the work. The other point of the paper is the practical significance of “ androgyny” in the feminine writing and cause people to reflect on their own state of mind.In the introduction Part there will be a brief introduction on Androgyny thought,the research in both domestic and foreign, give the problem with solution and the research methods. Then point out their innovation of this article.The main body is divided into three chapters.In the first Chapter there will be a illustration on the Androgyny theory, Woolf and Cixous’ s Androgyny theory. Chapter two will be focus on the forming of the two writers’ s Androgyny. This Part will allalyze their personal experience and social background.Chapter Three is the key part of the whole artiele. It will focus on the two feminists Androgyny thought. Through the analyzing their different works, the author will compare their commons and differences.In the Conclusion,I will summarized the Androgyny theory and illustrates the realistic meaning in modern society.
