| Topic selected in the paper started with analyzing symbol composition and application rule in Chinese traditional patterns, and pattern language extensibility and utilization of ’pattern thinking’ in current environment and art creation were discussed with analysis method in semiotics, thereby providing new interpretation for people to enjoy pattern.Research methods in the paper includes observation method, namely expression mode of pattern language is further summarized through observing traditional pattern. Literature research method-application of semiotics in pattern language is transversely compared through reading related writings. Case analysis method-art works of traditional and current domestic and foreign art works are combined for analyzing concrete case application of ’pattern thinking’.Study basis includes the follows: firstly, practical experience is accumulated by the writer in pattern creation, secondly, literature of pattern related knowledge is selected in daily life, thirdly, artists are studied and analyzed in art learning.Theme of the paper was extended around rhetorical concept in pattern and semiotics.’Pattern thinking’ concept was proposed through combining with art practical experience of the author himself. Relation between pattern language and svmbol expression was mainlv analyzed on the basis of referring related books and publications. Possibility of pattern language extension was proposed. The author also demonstrated three factors in ’pattern thinking’ through several concrete work pictures at the end of the paper.In short, pattern thinking refers to the thinking of reediting visual ideographic symbol text in creation. Meanwhile, pattern thinking also provides new perspective for us to interpret and analyze works. |
