Emei Mount is one of Chinese four major Buddhist mounstains for its one thousand years history. The first temple in Emei Mount is the Fuhu temple. It was designed for the nuns in Emei Mount as Buddhist practicing of female pubic unit. And it is the largest temple for nuns in Sichuan Province.The Major work of Fuhu Temple is the Pure Land during Chaomu Puja, sometimes the Temple hold Buddha Buddhist activities. Comparing with other temples in Emei Mount, Fuhu Temple owns most complete ceremony and ritual music, so it is meaningful to choose this temple.Currently, there are rarely study of Buddhist music, especially the study of nuns spiritual place. This article will focus on the Buddhist music in Fuhu Temple, which will provide more references for other study in future. During the research, we integrat ritual process of Buddhist music in Fuhu Temple in order to understand the use of this music, the music features and function of music in ritual.In this paper, by studying the two Buddhist activities in Fuhu Temple (Matin Puja chanting and blessing ceremony Ghost Festival) ritual music, we try to reveal the whole picture of the temple Buddhist music, and integrate the local folk music demonstrated by the personality traits. The two main issures of this study is what Fuhu Buddhist music morphological characteristics and what geographical features embody? The proportion of various styles and how? The article used the "Heqiang" analysis, "Prachuab tone" theory to be the function of the research and writing. According to the analysis, Buddhist monastery music is explored by Buddhist monastery musical tone structure and melodic base model, whereby understand regional style to which they belong on the study by Basu pitch for further research and conservation work for the class of music to provide a more detailed and accurate analytical basis and perspectives. This study is based on detailed analysis of mining the deep structure of the music, and deeply explain the whole picture and style characteristics Fuhu Buddhist music, especially the ritual and music combine in the lane. And we clear the basis of case studies of its core chamber music and regional style characteristics, understanding the use of music in the ceremony, the music features and music functions.By explanation of Buddhist music in Fuhu Temple, the melodies shows grave but soft and solemn beauty. Fuhu chanting includes four types. Although each chanting is different, the basic shape and development practices have narrow rhyme "la, do, re" as the core with various modifications and extension, which merge these chanting into one highly unified style. Fuhu Buddhist music not only retain its own style of music, but also content the "xiajiang chamber" music, the integration of Emei, Leshan local dialect tone, folk melodies which shows a Shu musical color strong. In conclusion, a lot of folk music was absorb by Sichuan Emei Mount, so it indicates a special local color, and convey the Buddhist "Sound Buddhist," which is quiet, solemn and the practitioner’s own self-cultivation, sophisticated body and mind an important practice.
