This thesis mainly consists of three parts, the first part is a brief expaination of writing methodology foundation: Philosophy and Hermeneutics; the second part is a timeline summary and research classification. The third part is an overall summary and analysis on her most representative works, from the perspectives of traditional film critics, body politics criticism, social phychology analysis and culture criticism etc.In all, this thesis puts Leni’s film works into the entire academic development history, then tries to explain and analyze from the perspective of Philosophical Hermeneutics. This thesis presents the basic pattern of academic history and history of thoughts surrounding an individual case.
