As one of most common musical forms, the tripartite structure has been widelyapplied in a variety of musical works of every type and theme. The structural formbased on the statement, turning and reconstruction of the natural attribute hasperfectly exhibited the balance and symmetry. After going through the selection of thenature and human, it has exerted profound influence upon the human psychology andeven has developed into the aesthetic requirement as an instinct. The aesthetic habit ofthe human has been usually reflected in the artistic creation unconsciously. Hence, thesymmetry and balance has almost become an appeal, which will also work on thegeneral composition and overall layout of the artistic work.With the advance of the history, the aesthetic psychology has also gone throughthe change constantly. However, the organizational principle of tripartite structure hasbeen actively applied at the stage of musical aesthetics with its dialectical beauty thathas reflected the basic law of development ranging from the emerging, departing toreturning. In the artistic activities at any age, it has always played a role accordingly.In the20th century, the western world had made a radical transformation in thetraditional concept of the music evolving in as early as Renaissance period. What ismore, a new form of music that has cut loose from the traditional music in essence hasbeen also formed. Hence, there has also existed a question as to how the tripartitestructure presents itself in the modern musical works.Based on the form of tripartite structure during the period of commoncomposition, this paper has focused on the modern musical works and also conductedthe comparative analysis so as to discuss the development and evolution of thetripartite structure in the modern musical works.
