In recent years, the self-expansion model which is popular abroad is starting toget the attention of domestic scholars. Self expanding which is put forward byself-expansion theory is a core motive of people, people tend to be put each other into the self in the close relationship. Self-concept is the individual perception andevaluation for themselves in all aspects, which is the internal factor affecting collegestudents’ love. Romantic jealousy has become a new theme in the field of collegestudents love study. The existing researches in home and abroad show that romanticjealousy is a widespread phenomenon in college students’ love and it will threaten thelove relationship and quality. Domestic study on self-expansion and romanticjealousy is not only less, but also lack of integration study for multiple variables.Therefore, it is necessary to intensively study the development status and relationshipin the self-expansion, self-concept and romantic jealousy of college students.This study consists two parts: research one, romantic jealousy scale for revision.Select266college students who have love experience as initial test objects,investigate the factor structure of love jealous scale and revise the questionnaireswhich have good reliability and validity and are suitable for Chinese culturalbackground; research two, the empirical research. Select880college students whohave love experience in six universities as research objects. The system analyzesoverall situation in self-expansion, self-concept and romantic jealousy of collegestudents and difference in the demography variables. Then discuss the relationship ofcollege students’ self-expansion, self-concept and romantic jealousy. Conclusions areas follow:(1) The revised romantic jealousy scale which consists of three subscales(romantic jealousy feeling, romantic jealousy situation and no confidence in love) hashigh degree of differentiation, reliability and validity.(2) The self-expansion of college students is overall in on or up medium level.Love duration, whether had sexual relations, whether lover cheated on, familysocioeconomic status, parents marital status and other demographic variables have significant impact on one or more of the dimensions of the college students’self-expansion.(3) The self-concept of college students is overall in on or up medium level.Gender, whether the one-child, whether religious, family socioeconomic status, doyou have any emotional abuse experience and other demographic variables have asignificant impact on one or more of the dimensions of the college students’self-concept.(4)The romantic jealousy of college students is overall at the middle level and asignificant percentage of college students’ romantic jealousy levels on the high side.Gender, whether the one-child, grade, romantic times, love purpose, love status,whether had sexual relations, whether couples living together, parents marital statusand other demographic variables have a significant impact on one or more of thedimensions of the college students’ romantic jealousy.(5)The self-expansion, self-concept and romantic jealousy of college studentshave significantly related. Self-expansion has remarkable positive prediction on theromantic jealousy, while self-concept has significant negative effect on it.(6) The self-expansion of college students not only has direct effects on romanticjealousy, but also indirect effects. Self-criticism, self-psychology, self-action, familyself, physical self in self-expansion of college students serve as intermediary variablebetween the self-expansion and romantic jealousy.
