A Study On The Pronunciation

Bai language has three dialects: Nujiang, Dali and Jianchuan, also calledthe Northern, central and Southern dialects respectively. For phonetic system, there aresome similarities and obvious differences between them. This paper studies the phoneticsystem of Bai language, which is spoken by people of Nuodeng town, Yunlong County,Dali Prefecture. This paper analyses the characteristics of Bai language according todetail description on Bai language.This paper contains five parts. Preface introduces not only the aim and significance ofchoosing this topic, the theory and method this paper bases on, but also expoundsgeography, history, social situation, language applying of Nuodeng town. In the first threechapters, we describe phonetic system of Bai language of Nuodeng: initials, finals andtones. And using experimental phonetics theory analyzes initial system, finals systemand tone system of Bai Language of Nuodeng. Chapter four introduces the phonologicalfeatures of Bai Language of Nuodeng and their relations between them. Chapter fivecompares Bai Language of Nuodeng and other dialects on phonetics system. Select BaiLanguage of Lushui Luobenzhuo, Bai Language of Nuodeng in the1950s as comparisonobjects, analyses their similarities and differences of phonetic system, and discusses thecorresponding relationship between them. Basing on the comparison and analysis above,this dissertation makes a conclusion on the characteristic of Nuodeng Bai Language.
