| It is one of the most important links between teaching of Chinese to the foreign students and it is definitely quite relevant to their Chinese levels.But comparing with teaching method and approach researches of other language elements, the researches on teaching Chinese characters has been lagged behind. In recent years, with foreign language teaching and Chinese research on the body of study, to strengthen and improve the teaching methods of Chinese characters for foreign students has become the consensus among teachers and scholars.As a spectacular unit of character structure, component draws tremendous attention to research and teaching of characters. But due to lack of the philology knowledge, most of the foreign language teachers only use those Chinese characters components as radicals in teaching. Those components which are not complete characters or just parts of a single character in the presence of components are rarely involved. In fact, fully revealing the ideographic and phonetic relationships between shapes and meanings of these non-character components will make the foreign learners have a better understanding of the components of Chinese characters," improve the learning interest, as well as greatly reduce the difficulty of memorizing.This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, introducing the origin, purpose and significance of non-character components of teaching, and the reviews of studying of Chinese characters components and teaching approaches. The second chapter mainly introduces the related theory of non-character components, including the nature and characteristics of Chinese characters, cognitive psychology etc. The third chapter is the main body of the thesis, introducing that the teaching practice that I did. The fourth chapter summarizes the whole thesis which is designed on the basis of teaching principles and methods. And besides, it provides a reflection after the experimental teaching. |
