In this paper, Ang Lee’s ten works as the basis for the theoretical support by movie metaphor, and with the movie aesthetic, psychoanalytic theory, I analyze systematically the metaphor of Ang Lee’s movies and summarize the cultural,emotional and human value and meaning in his movies.The first chapter of this paper comb the theory of metahpor,including the origin and development of the metaphor in East-West, especially in Western research-based, I summarize briefly the development of metaphor in rhetoric, linguistics, poetics, image and so on, I emphasize on the history and development and list the researchers and writings in this area. At last,I give the value and meaning of Ang Lee’s movie.The second chapter uses peruse method, combined with the specific text of the Ang Lee’s movie analyze the metaphor of images, metaphors of diet ("Pushing Hands,""The Wedding Banquet,""Eat Drink Man Woman"), metaphor of "Tiger"("crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon "," Life of Pie "), the metaphor of the body, and then summed up the foundation and meaning of these metaphors exist.The third chapter uses peruse method combined with the specific text of the Ang Lee’s movie analyze the metaphor of time and space, including the time of metaphors ("Life of Pie","The Ice Storm,""Hulk"), metaphors of a closed space ("Lust, Caution,’"Life of Pie"), the metaphor of natural scenes ("Brokeback Mountain,""Sense and Sensibility"), and then summed up the foundation and meaning of these metaphors exist.Conclusion is based on the first three chapters in a comprehensive summary and conclusion, pointing out that the role and significance in his movies. It is divided into three levels:cultural, emotional, human nature. From the cultural point of view, he combine the culture of eastern with the style of western.in this way, he open the movie market of Eastern and Western, which is why Ang Lee’s film will be recognized by Hollywood; from the emotional point of view, his movies are filled with the rational and emotional conflict, increasing the visibility of the film; from the human point of view, it is the deep meaning of Ang Lee’s chase to express repressed feelings of detachment and freedom, take sustenance his own humanistic care.
