| With the direction of cognitive metaphor, this thesis analyzes the characteristics ofneologism from2010to2011through the basic views of conceptual metaphor, andanalyzes the translation of metaphor neologism by way of cross-cultural mapping. Inthis paper, the specific strategies and methods are introduced for the translation ofChinese metaphorical neologism by the analysis of specific examples.In the premise of cultural integration and metaphor study, this thesis researches anddefines the Chinese neologism, and explains the concepts, the elements and the crossculture of conceptual metaphor, and analyzes the similarity and differentiation incross-cultural cognitive of conceptual metaphor. After the analysis of the concrete cases,two methods, literal translation of metaphorical objects and simile, are introduced forthe same mapping between Chinese culture and English culture; three methods,replacing the metaphorical objects, metaphorical objects with interpretation and literaltranslation the connotation, are introduced for the difference mapping between Chineseand English cultures. |
