A Study On The Evolution Of "Reimbursement" Words In Ancient Contract

From a comprehensive view, scholars achieved results which take the Contract Documents as the research object, were mainly focused on in the areas such as history, law, sociology, while the research of the language of recording the Contract Documents content was relatively less. The existing research on the language of the Contract Documents, mainly focused on the interpretation of individual words, while specialized vocabulary evolution research was still small. The Contract Documents, therefore, as a particular style, studying its vocabulary system, has a special value in the study of the history of Chinese vocabulary.In terms of the perspective of the corpus, the Contract Documents has certain advantages. First, the Contract Documents have a clear written time, it can be taken as the research materials on face of the language of a particular era to guarantee the accuracy of its time. Second, most of the Contract Documents is derived from the sequestration of caves, underground catacombs or the folk preserved original contract documents passed down through several generations, and they have not been changed after they were finished, which can be a true reflection of the face of the language, so taking it as a research object is more reliable.Based on the above research status and the corpus value of the Contract Documents, the paper selected higher frequency of use and appears relatively fixed position "chang-huan" words as the research object, using the combination method of synchronic and historical study method, static description and inductive analysis, the literature handed down from ancient times and unearthed literature complement each other, explain the meaning of words and explore the evolution rule of these words. Overall, this kind of words has apparent characteristic of two-syllable, preserve the reverse words, establish its own system, and show obvious regional features.Interpretation of words, can not only help us accurately understand the content of the contract documents and contribute to the further study of other subjects, but also provides reference for the revision of large-scale dictionaries, especially benefitting for supplementary the terms, enriching examples and the illustrations ahead of time. From the perspective of diachronic investigation, studying on vocabulary is also an important part of the whole diachronic research of Chinese vocabulary. In hence, it is extremely significant for this paper to select, sort and record the term of "chang-huan" appearing in the ancient contract documents, which belongs to a trial of Chinese synonyms diachronic research.
