Since the Spatial-Numerical Association of Response Code effect (SNARC effect) was proposed in1993, it has attracted many researchers to conduct this kind of study. First arabic number, then different kinds of language systems, letters, days of week and month of year were employed to explore the spatial bias of the sequence stimuli. SMARC and STEARC were raised according. And the mental number line from left to right became the mental number map when researchers found that the SNARC effect can be observed in vertical direction. Meanwhile, the mechanism of the effect has been widely explored. Mental number line, culture and reading habits, computational model, physiological mechanism and embody psychology, all of them try to explain the association of number and space in particular ways.At beginning, there have researchers interested in attention and numerical space bias. When presented a number in screen, do not demand subjects do any processes of the number, attentional resource were asymmetry in left and right. When a smaller number shows, subjects would pay more attention to left space, vice versa. The researcher named it attentional SNARC effect. At the same time, dominate researchers discovered that referential cues, endogenous and exogenous cue could disturb the effect. Recently there have study argue the numbers around the target number could also affect to the target ones. Thus these researches attempt to find the relationship between attention and neighbor numbers and target number.The article includes four mixed design experiments. In the first one, the neighbor stimuli and target comes from different symbolic systems. Attentional capture effect and additional singleton in the paradigm would influence space bias of the target number. There are four different kinds of additional singletons. The first one apply geometric figure as additional singleton. The second one employ number5, which number without space bias, as additional singleton. And the rest use number3and7as additional singletons, which have various space biases. Along with changes of additional singletons, the disturbance became more and more difficult. The followed experiments instead number5to geometric figure. The last two researches used number3and7as neighbor stimuli.The main conclusions of the present researches are as follows: (1)When neighbor stimuli and additional singleton without space bias, the SNARC effect of target number can be found;(2)The space bias of additional singleton would affect the SNARC effect of target number, and even reverse it;(3)Neighbor stimuli could also disturb the space bias of target number;(4)Attentional capture can be observed in all experiments, indicated that addition singleton paradigm could investigate the attentional capture effect on SNARC effect.
