The Literary History Of Wen Xin Diao Long And Its Acceptance

Our ancient literary theories were summarized into a relatively complete theorysystem in Wen Xin Diao Long. One important purpose of Liu Xie’s Wen Xin DiaoLong was to save the literary style which had taken a wrong turning. Liu Xieconnected literature with social reality and spread the traditional literary conceptionwhich used the political education as the centre of Confucian education, thedevelopment of Wen Xin Diao Long Literary History was connected with thedevelopment of social history. Liu Xie’s literary conception was guided by Confucianconception, he put forward the problems between “Wen” and “Dao” which had madea deepen influence on our ancient literary history.The whole paper is divided into three chapters. Chapter I is used to research thehistory backgrounds and theory sources of Wen Xin Diao Long Literary History, itexpounds the wide histories and social backgrounds, connects the literary reality ofLiu Xie’s era, and research its theory sources; Chapter II is used to discuss the theoryconcept, it deals with it from two views----“use Shi Xu as center”,“Wen Zhi Hu Bian”,and try to analyze its location in the whole literary system; Chapter III is used to listthe reception of Wen Xin Diao Long Literary History, the paper analyzes the receptionof Sui Tang historian, Tang Song men of letters, Yuan Qing writers etc.Wen Xin Diao Long Literary History is about such problemo as literature origin,the relation between literature development and social reality. The inheritance andinnovation in the literature development, which has made an important reference forthe writing of later liteoiry history. When later writers describe the literary history,they will be more objective and true in such fields as literature, historical science,poetics and painting and calligraphy, find the devoiupment regulation hidden behindliterary phenomenon, and express the writer’s care for reality subtly, which willbenefit the healthy development of our literary history.
