Though lack of research data and information, this article aims at carrying out research on the developing works of only vocals no words as a special topic. Based on the collected first-hand phonotape and videotape and music score, the author analyses and summaries the art features of works of only voice no words by comparison method and case study.The article is divided into three chapters.The first chapter, from the perspective of only vocals no words’instrumental property and challenging the traditional music and vocal limitation, introduces its unique and irreplaceable value. It is mentioned in the article that such instrumental music attribute as abstract, virtualization and the elimination of technological bottleneck are brought into full play because only vocals no words removes the obstacles of language. Also, this chapter deals with electroacoustical impelling action for the effect and creation of only vocals no words.The second chapter deals with observing and studying the original works of only vocal no words as a separate classification. In this classification, this chapter talks about the trend of instrumental voice for vocals and vocals for instrumental music in the works of only vocals no words from the perspective of vocalize, epoch-making Gliere’s Coloratura Soprano Concerto, original works of modern cappella vocal band. As for vocalize, the author makes further detailing and classification. For Coloratura Soprano Concerto, this chapter makes deep analysis and research on its features and historic value. Also, the chapter carries out case study for modern popular original works of only vocals no words, especially the most typical works in the style of Jazz.The third chapter deals with observing and studying the adapted works of only vocals no words as a separate classification. In this classification, case observation and analysis are made in this chapter from the view of portability simulation, partial adaption and whole adaption. Besides, this chapter induces and studies in depth the common features adapted works of only vocals no words.
