This research is to find out the self-concept situation and characteristics of thesecondary vocational school students (SVS students), and explore the effect of grouppsychology counseling based on imagery communication technique to improve SVSstudents’ self-concept level,(n the front part of this research, the TennesseeSelf-concept Scale was used to do the survey of the self-concept level of683studentsfrom a secondary vocational school and a senior high school in Shanghai, and theresults showed the status of their self-concept, and examined the impact ofdemographic factors on self-concept; in the intervention study, screening8studentswho wanted to know and improve their self-concept level by the results of TennesseeSelf-concept Scale from Senior Vocational school? these8students constituted theintervention group for8weeks. At the same time, a control group of8students withthe similar self-concept level to the intervention group was screened. After theintervention, Tennessee Self-concept Scale was used to measure the level ofself-concept again, the conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)Thetotal self-concept is obviously different between different schools, studentsources and grades.(2)Bothphysical self-concept and self-action are obviously different betweendifferent schools and grades.(3)Themoral self-concept is obvious different between different schools, gender,student sources and grades.(4)Thefamily self-concept is obvious different between only child or not.(5)Thesocial self-concept is obvious different between different student sources.(6)Bothself-identity and self-criticism are obvious different between differentschools, student sources and grades.(7)Theself-satisfy is obvious different between different student sources.(8)Thegroup psychology counseling based on imagery communication technique can significantly improve the SVS students’ self-concept level. |
