A Study On The Musical Characteristics And Performance Of "The Forgotten Melody"

Early20th century, a large number of Russian composers in music history hasleft a huge amount of works. There is a pianist, composer rarely been mentioned, hiswork did not get enough attention in music literature, his works seems always in theshadow of Rachmaninoff, Scriabin in the same generation. This person isNicolas Karlovich Medtner. This dissertation has analyzed the creative features ofthe piano divertimento "Forgotten Melodies" by Medtner, including strict logicalthinking, creative compositional technique, and national emotion in this music.Meanwhile, based my performance and research, declared many aspects in terms ofseizing overall character, differently treating voices etc. For learners and pianists,this set of works provide references on several aspects, for example: overall graspof the works, Interpretation of combination of delicate and romance, rational andemotional perfectly.
