Canal Culture On The North Hall Of The Old Practice

Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal took vitality and vigor for Tianjin. During the development of Tianjin, Beicang village which lies in north canal bank has become a Village of Culture and Village of Martial Arts. Shao Lian Association of Bei Cang Town, an Martial Arts organization of the masses which originated from three hundred years ago has played an important role for it. As a social organization Shao Lian Association of Bei Cang Town onal spirit, which has been classified as first batch of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Tianjin, but there are few researches systematically to do collection and rediscovering for it. So this study is trying to make up this imperfection.This study is based on protection of Grand Canal culture to investigate the Intangible Cultural Heritage of special region-protection and lineage of Shao Lian Association of Bei Cang Town Through Field Survey Method and Documentary Analysis Method, using theory and method of protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage and applying experience abroad as reference, this study collected systematically the history and development of Shao Lian Association of Bei Cang Town, which discussed the status of its development and lineage, analyzed the influenced factors and found the strategy to protect it efficiently. Main conclusions are:1. Shao Lian Association of Bei Cang Town is the folk preservation on Canal Culture Area.It played an important role for communication of north-south cultural to dredge the Grand Canal. As bright Pearl City on Canal Culture Area, Tianjin has abundant canal culture preservation, which is rich in cultural heritage. In the history, Beicang is famous for flowers, which included72Queen Temples, such as. 2. Shao Lian Association of Bei Cang Town is an essential culture signetfor Tianjin’s sport folk culture.Accompanying with development of history culture in Tianjin, Shao Lian Association of Bei Cang Town is an essential culture signet for Tianjin’ s sport folk culture, which has been classified as first batch of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Tianjin in2007. As Intangible Cultural Heritage, it is key to region culture in Tianjin, inheriting the culture character of special organization and promoting cultural identity from different organizations in Tianjin.3. Development of Shao Lian Association of Bei Cang Town is not optimistic.With economic globalization, same as other traditional Chinese culture, Shao Lian Association of Bei Cang Town is confronted with shock of Alien Cultures, which makes its development not optimistic. Quantity of members is decreased. Young guys cannot ensure their time for practice. Enthusiasm of Martial Arts is fading away. All of these influenced development of Shao Lian Association of Bei Cang Town.4. Suggestions for protection of Shao Lian Association of Bei Cang Town.Government should pay high attention to financial support of Shao Lian Association of Bei Cang Town; collect and rediscovery its history data; protect its inheritor; publicized through media; expand its size; improve its external exchange; enhance its teacher resources.
