| Purpose: Investigate the clinical effect of acupuncture in the treatment of optic atrophy of the optic nerve in the two deficiency of Qi and blood. Evaluate the protective effect of acupuncture on retinal ganglion cells through the statistical analysis of the correlation data of visual acuity, visual field and optical coherence tomography. Accumulation of clinical basis for the treatment of glaucoma and demonstrate the advantage of acupuncture treatment. Material and method: From March 2015 to January 2016 in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of traditional Chinese medicine ophthalmology clinic diagnosis and treatment,we chose 32 patients that met the inclusion criteria for the diagnosis of "deficiency of Qi and blood" glaucomatous optic neuropathy.According to the order number, the patients were randomly divide into two groups, the test group of 16 cases(27 eyes) and the control group of 16 cases(25 eyes). Patients in control groups were treated with mecobalamin and injections which were introducted by thrombus through(Freeze drying) direct current.Renshenyangrong Decoctions were given. The test groups were on the basic level of control groups and added in acupuncture treatment. The two groups were treated for 20-30 days.Compare the changes of visual acuity and visual field index and mean deviation and peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer thickness. Results:Firstly, vision: Comparison of the test group before and after treatment P = 0.000(P <0.01); Comparison of the control group before and after treatment P = 0.041(P <0.05); Comparison of two groups before and after treatment P = 0.034(P <0.05).Secondly, the visual field index(VFI):Comparison of the test group before and after treatment P = 0.003(P <0.01);Comparison of the control group before and after treatment P = 0.038(P <0.05);Comparison of two groups before and after treatment P = 0.024(P <0.05).Thirdly, the mean deviation(MD):Comparison of the test group before and after treatment P=0.001(P<0.01);Comparison of the control group before and after treatment P = 0.026(P <0.05); Comparison of two groups before and after treatment P = 0.039(P <0.05).Fourthly, the peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer thickness:Comparison of the test group before and after treatment P = 0.216(P> 0.05);Comparison of the control group before and after treatment P = 0.048(P <0.05);Comparison of two groups before and after treatment P = 0.250(P> 0.05).Fifthly,the total effective rate of test groups was 88.89% and the total effective rate of control groups was 72.00%. The total effective rate by comparison of statistical analysis P=0.031,(P <0.05).Conclusion:Firstly, acupuncture can significantly improve the visual acuity and visual field index of glaucoma patients with optic atrophy in blood deficiency type and reduce the average visual field defect.Secondly, acupuncture can maintain the thickness of the retinal nerve fiber layer and have an excellently protective effect of retinal ganglion cells. |
